Blog Post #13

Did You Know?

I did not know a lot of these interesting facts. Technology is amazing today because one can find out anything they want to know by just looking it up. Using WolframAlpha one can find out answers to any factual questions. It involves experts in all fields to bring the accurate information forth and put it together on an easy to use site for individuals to access. Looking up the United States population compared to China's population, the China's population is 338% larger than the United States. Wow!! The United States is .008% of China's population. China has 376 people per square mile. The United States has 87.3 people per square mile.  This makes China sound extremely crowded. Comparing the United States to India, India is 293.4 percent larger than the United States. The United States makes up .013% of India's population.
I believe all of the facts presented in the first blog assignment to be credible. With experts working on it and spending a lot of time on survey's and things the facts must be very close to actual numbers. Being that babies are being born and people are dying the number probably changes every second. Amazing!

Students will benefit from using the WolframAlpha for any research assignments versus wikipedia or any other sites because this sight involves more research being completed by professionals. Students can also put in math problems and get answers. This will help  them learn to correct their mistakes. With it being credible one will not have much trouble providing facts in any class assignments. However, students will have to be aware of what their teacher wants and not just rely on this sight to complete their work. Research is research and when it comes to a paper or anything similar one must use more than one source!
